FINAL FANTASY V App Reviews

Bad controls

My favorite game just wish I could give it the up down left right instead of corner walking and getting stuck on ledges, super frustrating

Wasted money

Horrible. I really got to stop reading others reviews. Get FF4, this is like playing in a century ago.

Great Port that is saddled by annoying Decisions

1. The on screen d-pad is more annoying than most. 2. The auto-battle option is broken. Whenever enabled the female members of my team just throw potions every turn. Even if there is no one that needs healing. 3. No iPhone 5 support. The black bars on either side of the screen is annoying.

FFV

***Great Game*** runs smoothly on my iPad mini

Decent fun with some minor gripes

First off, Final Fantasy Vs story is beyond lazy. As long as you go into this jonesing for retro camp, youll enjoy it. If youre hoping for an awesome yarn, well, I guess its not like Square didnt just release FFXIII. If you enjoyed FFXIIIs story, youre probably lacking the necessary brain matter to find fault in FFVs. Enjoy! The game is fun, though. It gives you the job system to customize your group, the bosses pose a fair challenge, theres a good amount of extra hidden stuff to find and some tough ultra-bosses for keeners to take down at games end. Therere also other smart little touches, like being able to just hit a save button that pops up @ save points which spares you the bother of having to go through menus every time you wanna save. Square put a bit of work into the title, too. The controls work in 360 degrees rather than eight directions, and the maps have been changed to accommodate that. That can make for some frustrating areas, like getting caught on corners in narrow passages or having to fumble through poison bush patches that were easily traversed with a d-pad. The nuisances are few though, and the touch controls feel great after you play for a bit. The auto battle is broken. It seems like theyre *#~$ing up again like they did in FFXIII, where they thought that players wanted a game that would play itself for them. If you pick auto-battle, your group will cast magic for you, depleting your MP, and/or just toss potions carelessly, even at group members with full HP. What happened to auto-battle just making your group attack? It sounds like Im grumbling at the game, but I get that Square (unfortunately) has to cater to the lowest common denominator so therere going to be some dumbing down in RPGs. And, despite the little nods to the bros the game is hoping to reel in, the game spends most of its efforts loving up the series longtime fans. If youre on the fence, get it. Its a fun buy.

Great but....

Minor bug: Gilgameshs info will not register into the bestiary when you meet him in the void for the first time. This will not allow you to complete your bestiary.

Nice game. But could be better

Great version of the original. Digital pad/analog joystick a little annoying sometimes as the old snes version is 4 directional d-pad. iCloud support will make this game better as I can then carry on my iPad game then continue on my iPhone.

Good port, with nice enhancements.

First, I prefer this port over my old super famicom cart or the psx port. The visuals of V were before the era of magnificent detailed 2D tile artwork of FFVI and CT, so the new backgrounds and monster art here is a nice touch. The auto-battle works by repeating the last commands youve entered, while doubling the speed of battle, and can be turned on and off as needed. Theres no AI involved, it isnt broken and it doesnt dumb the game down. It fixes my only gripe with FFV in general: V is heavier on the grind than IV and VI in a few places, so speeding up the battle is really nice. Died after a long haul while forgetting to save? New resume feature allows you to pick up without losing an hour. I forgot how much humor is in this game, and the job system is fun. Lots of goodies. Touch controls work great, no problems. Another classic RPG that is a welcome addition to my iPad. More please!

Great Port - Great Game

I actually really like this version of FFV. The auto battle is GREAT. People saying it is broken just dont get it. It repeats the last command given - so you can preset steal, magic, or just attacks. Very useful for grinding or item hunting. The controls are smart considering the platform, and the Sprite upgrades are nice too. Worth buying! FF6 next please!

Great port/remake, but with a few minor issues.

Great game! A nice FF game and my favourite so far. The Job System is great as it is fun to customize your party and try out never before seen jobs. The world (or worlds I should say) is big and there are many places to explore. A few issues I have found are; The battle menu. After selecting a command other than attack, the menu scrolls down and that command is at the top. Since I find myself spamming attack, I accidentally use a potion instead. Another issue is the need of grinding. I have played many RPGs but this one makes you grind for hours to move on. Other then those, this game is great and worth the $15.99.

Great Game crippled by a crappy port

This is an amazing example of JRPGs from the 90s, yet the developers dont even care to have the graphics tile correctly!!! As a result everything looks off, you can see the squarish seams where everything should join smoothly. The original DID NOT do this! Controls are bad, but at least combat makes some use of the touchscreen, unlike the port for FF1. It still is FFV, but the graphics are a huge problem.

Glitch at the end

Lol not really a glitch but when i finished the game and went behind the water fall i teleported to the forest (where the phantom village is) My boat was beside it and on land. But great game! Wrapped it, and got all the jobs for every character mastered ! My fave FF game.

Perfect In Every Way

Perfectly executed and very well polished. If youre an FF fan, this is worth the money. You rarely get this much value in an iOS game.

Amazing Port

The team at Square Enix have done a fantastic job bringing this to iOS devices. The graphics are top notch without sacrificing the feel of the original SNES version. The diagonal controls take some getting used to, but the option exists to shut it off. Plays beautifully on an iPad mini. I cannot wait for FFVI to come out on iOS if it looks like this game. Worth the money IMO.

!!bugs

in the sealed temple, River of soul - B3, a guy ask to bring him a Behemoth to keep going , i capture one but he still not see it and act like if i did not have one, after dealing with this, this will open one of the coolest part of ff5 and there is a bug stoping me from enjoy it... please fix this

No sound?

For some reason, this game has no sound. I tried redownloading it but there was still no sound. Please fix it

Great iOS port

Even though its a bit pricey, square did a really good job porting over FFV. The graphics are updated, the touch controls work amazingly well and FFV is an awesome game. I remember playing a fan translated rom back in the day, and Im looking forward to playing through this again on iOS.

Only worth 99 cents for FF0.1

Why FFV graphic is the worst? I bought it for half price but still so regret to buy it... Not worth the money IMO

5 Star Or Shut Your Mouth

With a little patience, anyone can pick this up at half price. $4 and you get an amazing game. Douches cry about price but will pay more being scammed by garbage freemium games. This game is a steal at full price in the current market.

Bugs

Was enjoying the game but no longer. I am unable to receive gil from anything. The max my gil goes up is 100 gill per fight when the rewards are 2000. Makes for a looooong grind to get items.
