FINAL FANTASY V App Reviews

Solid JRPG, but Cloud Save feature no longer works

FFV iOS is a solid entry into the series but there is one nagging flaw. As right now, and confirmed via support email from Squrenix, the cloud save feature of DOES NOT work. If you got the game as I did to play on the go on my phone and at home on my iPad, that is not possible at this time. Otherwise it has a solid story, great job system, and that Classic FF vibe to scratch that JRPG on the go that you may be feeling.

Character portraits are FINE.

The complaints about the character portraits make me laugh. Guys, its the original artwork for the game, before it was brought to sprite form in the snes. Yes, a lot changed in that transformation due to color restrictions, but its still really cool to see the concept art involved in the main product. Anyway, Im enjoying my purchase so far. The controls are a little wonky at first but seem tighter than the FF6 port. Another difference between FF6 I like is the battle system. Its more true to the original. Hoping I dont encounter these save file issues others seem to be experiencing. Maybe they vary from person to person, as a lot of gaming issues do. In any case, its a worthy port thus far. Wont buy this version on Steam (noticed it there the other day) because putting a mobile game on PC is lazy on the developers part, but as an iOS port, it works quite well.

Amazing

I spent around $13 for this app and it was worth every penny. It took more over 40 hours to finish the game. The character development is fantastic, as well as the side quests that you can enjoy. Well done!

6+ (iOS 9.x)

Thanks for the continued support, devs. I hope this means that consumers can look forward to updates for the remaining Final Fantasy titles on iOS.

Just like it was on the GBA

Buy this game if u like the Final Fantasy series, period,u will not regret it!

Great RPG for FF fans

Feels and runs and plays like a real Final Fantasy game. Worth the money

Thanks for updating

I have all the FF games on the App Store and this is one I play a lot now. Very good FF game.

Language

Cannot change language!!! Very disappointed

What the hell

The first half hour is just cut scenes, the first boss is way above your level and attacks you way too many times per turn, I cant even see an enemy health bar the gauge how close I am, plus it just goes into a ball to negate all damage while still dealing damage to you, if your plan is to take $15 from me then curb stomp me into the ground and make me never want to play this game again, you are doing a fantastic job.

Thank You

There are simply no words to describe the majesty of this game. Believe it or not I am actually fighting to hold back tears at this very moment as I am writing this review. Yes. The game is that good. I just beat the main story last night and I gotta say I have NEVER been so viscerally and emotionally invested in a game quite like this, at least not since I was a little kid. That is why this FF journey I have embarked on over the past several months has been the best psychologic and nostalgic medicine I have ever had. Several months back I set out on a quest to purchase and complete all the FF games in the App Store, and as of last month I have purchased them all. (Except for dimensions but whatever haha). As of last night I officially beat FF 5, so that means so far I have completed 1-5. I am at the end of FF4: the after years, and Im close to the end of tactics but that game is harder than a mother. Although I have defeated the main storylines in 1-5 I still have all the extra and secret stuff to conquer...but all of that will come in due time. For instance the 5 super bosses in FF5. I am currently farming for the dragon lances and coral rings necessary to take down the mighty Shinryu...boy I have a long way to go

Awesome game nostalgic

Best ff of all time my only gripe is that my character in the speech screen is an old lady with short hair not the guy shown but so if you could fix that wicked

Just as much fun as I remember!

FFV on the iPad is great fun, just like I remember on the GBA but with better graphics. However, the game looks really bad on the iPad mini 4 and is tiled together; it was not this bad on the iPad 2.

Excellent

Awesome game. Next to FF6, probably the next best one in the series Ive played. The story is lame, but the game mechanics and job system are great if you like tinkering. Im a big fan of the old school sprites; I hate how FF4 has been redone with 3D graphics. Kills the charm of the original. This game was done the proper way.

Amazing

A must buy lots of class and abilitys
