My favorite glitch in a game ever

I love the game no problem but I restarted it because I hit the button and Im to lazy to not save so I got to the part when you getting ready for galufs world but I had fork tower enemies in my bestiary and apparently that caused a glitch when I got a game over in one of those battles cid mid and the black chocobo turned into the omega mkii neo shinryu and the gladiator achievements respectively so I had to redownload the game no problem though the mixed world is easy to get to

New update makes game run super slow

If you have the app and have yet to download the update, dont! If you havent purchased this app yet, dont until the app until the next update. The new update makes the game run SUPER SLOW!!! Its now at a point, for me, where it is unbearable. Im hoping that Square-Enix releases another update soon; sure, the addition of cloud saves is nice, but it doesnt do any good since the update came at the cost of the games performance!!!

Finally iCloud support!

sweeet! now I can go back and forth between my iPad and my iPhone!

Great game

Great rpg, best touch interface of any ff for iOS. cloud saving is awesome.

READ for update fix

So from the title update there is now I cloud support but for me and a few others when Im connected to my wifi the game runs very slowly but if I go to airplane mode it runs fine this also includes cell data if your willing to do this until a patch is released if it even happens then the game is my favorite of the 1-6 ff games great job system and auto battle

Great game!

I never played this when I was a kid but its an awesome game

Great, but not perfect

The game is mostly sprite based, and is good for what it is. It allows you to make a character however you want. But, I didnt like the character portraits for when they are talking. They just seem... Different, then what the characters actually look like. Its like putting a mouse as a character portrait for a Orc. Their is plenty of variety, with tons of classes. However, one thing I really hate is how long it takes to grind for JP. If you havent played the game yet, I will explain. JP stands for job points. Job points are used to level up jobs. When a job reaches its max level, the freelancer class gains its stats. However, it took a really long time to get job points. You are ussually only gonna get 7 points max when fighting normal enemies. Some jobs take tons of points to max out. An example being the red mages final level taking 999 points. The game uses the job system, and adds a few new classes. Its a good game, and could be improved if the enemies gave more JP.

HELP SQUARE ENIX

I dont know how true this is, but rumor has it that SE is in financial trouble. THAT CANT HAPPEN. Final Fantasy has always been there, and it HAS to stay. Everyone PLEASE buy these games, and subscribe to games like FFXI and FFXIV to help keep SE afloat I (FINALLY) finished the Sealed Temple and the Cloister of the Undead, and Ive mastered every job for every character. Now it feels like theres nothing left to do. Please make an update that allows you the option to fight monsters again. Neo Shinryu, Omega MK II, and Enuo turned my hair white, but now I kind of wish I could challenge them again

Treasure from the past

An already perfect game polished and modernized past perfection. Whether youre a fan of JRPGs or youre just discovering the greatness of them, you cant go wrong with a sound copy of Final Fantasy V.

Character portraits need work!

Im playing through this game so far, and it seems really good, but theres one major flaw: the character artwork. I mean, it looks nothing like the actual sprites! The main heros sprite shows him with brown hair and dressed like a countryman,, but his character art shows "him" as a bishonen nobleman with silver hair. I could excuse the difference if it was appealing to look at, but its not. Every character appears to be scowling at you, like theyre angry or something, even when they dialogue shows them happy. It just needs work in general.

Buggy with no way to continue

I played the game until the part after north mountain where you get a dragon. I cant land the dragon and therefore can not play beyond this level. I assume this is a bug. Suggest not wasting your money when you can only play a few levels.

Flawless

This is a wonderfully ambitious port that gives a fresh, modern feel to the classic game while not straying from its old-school appeal. Well worth the price!

Lazily executed.

Its a solid game of course, but they were lazy in some areas. The music is a faithful reproduction of the original 16-bit synth music. Some will like that. I would rather have had the music reworked, as Final Fantasy 1 and 2 did with the Dawn of Souls soundtrack before porting the game to iOS. Moreover, the artist took too many liberties when drawing the character portraits. Hair color doesnt match, Bartz looks far too effeminate, the art direction is just poor. The portraits are well-defined and have a certain artistic flair, but there arent any dynamic facial expressions. The artwork does not fit well. If youre considering buying this, I recommend, instead, considering Final Fantasy I (recently updated for iOS 8 compatibility and modern control) Final Fantasy II (A little buggy; save often and fix the audio with the pulldown menu), or Final Fantasy Dimensions (No nostalgic value, but a solid entry to the top-down Final Fantasy series).

Broken save system

Square.... Your save system is not logical. Putting an iPad to sleep should not be resetting game progress. Its an iPad/iPhone youre playing on, you need to be able to put the game down on a whim (aka just press the lock button). Fix this?

Stupid.

Great game until you need 5k to buy a weapon and it starts taking away Gil instead of giving you Gil after fights. Example: I had 4758g, did a fight and won 1200g but after fight I had 3558g. Great job ruining a great game idiots.

Overall wonderful!

Great interface (directional stick done right!), screen graphics are awesome considering this is an older pixel-based rpg, music is a feast for the ears like in all the FF games. I love the jobs leveling system. Have not had any save issues or bugs. Bartzs dialogue picture is a little funny, but you wont even notice it anymore after an hour of gameplay. Underrated story thats a bit deeper than most give it credit for.

Non-functional Cloud Save

Game is fun. 3 stars is for non-functional cloud save. Lets you save but it wont find any saved data on second device. Looked everywhere online, and despite many people having this same problem, cant find any support on this.

Incredible version of an amazing game

I was skeptical of this new version at first, and i was never the biggest fan of the original (didnt give it a chance) but this game is amazing in every way. A new favorite I will replay a bunch using different classes.

Sprites?

Overall, really great game. The ATB and job system were different from other games Ive played. Only complaint, and this is minor, is that the sprites look completely different from the character artwork displayed when they talk. But oh well, doesnt detract from the game.

This and dragon quest made me play square enix games

I have DQ 1, 2 and 3 and they are really fun. Then I figured Final Fantasy would be like it. I was wrong, but the game was really fun. I got it when it was on sale. You should buy it!
